The Downtown Greenway, a collaborative project of the City of Greensboro and Action Greensboro, is a planned 4-mile walking and biking trail in the heart of Greensboro that promotes local economic development, showcases public art, provides transportation alternatives, connects GSO’s trail system and promotes wellness and physical fitness.
The Greenway construction has spanned the terms of five mayors and is projected to cost around $50 million. To date, there are more than $600 million in plans and in completed projects along the Downtown Greenway, and is funded in part by The City of Greensboro, NCDOT, Cone Health, The VF Corporation, and The Cemala Foundation.
