Since 2010, Cemala has supported “Opera at the Carolina” for all 5th graders in Guilford County. Opera at the Carolina provides students the chance to visit Greensboro Opera and observe the magic that comes to light. For several students, this is their first time in attendance. This innovative outreach also features a “Write Your Own Opera” contest, where students can submit their creative pieces and the winner gets to see their own story be developed for the stage.
The Greensboro Opera is a community based company dedicated to fostering the growth of opera, and to presenting professional productions of the highest artistic caliber for the enjoyment, education, and enrichment of the Triad region of North Carolina. Cemala’s support of the Greensboro Opera goes back nearly 25 years.
